Extensive hotel experience ensures we deliver client satisfaction
At CIC we have designed and delivered customised refurbishment projects within many sectors, including the golf, hospitality, and education industries. We are well versed in managing time, expectations and overcoming any unforeseen challenges and this also applies to the work we carry out year after year, the essential projects – refurbishments which follow a pre-set template and rolled out on a large scale.
Every year, we work with leading hotel chains to refurbish hundreds of hotel rooms, trade areas and corridors. Given the number of visitors into a hotel room during any given year, wear and tear is inevitable and, generally speaking, hotel bedrooms need an interior refresh every three to five years to keep up with design trends and maintain a good level of customer satisfaction.
Areas with high traffic also need to be frequently refreshed. People are constantly in motion in hotels, whether it’s guests checking in at the front desk, meeting up in the lobby, or housekeepers cleaning rooms. With so many people moving through a single space, it is essential that a hotel’s décor be both durable and on trend.
Often, a refurbishment will depend upon the hotel franchise as each will have created a template design to maximise the guest’s stay and represent the target audience. A full team of designers and even psychologists will be drafted in to create a blueprint for a room and for areas such as reception and hotel lobby spaces, heavy duty carpets and fabrics will be selected to be durable and as enduring as possible.
While this ‘uniform’ look will need to be replicated 100’s of times over, bringing these plans to life isn’t necessarily a simple case of step repeat. As a contractor we have a wealth of experience of working with a franchise and their supply chain. Our experience enables us to support the hotel, help them manage the refurbishment and throughout each step of the refurbishment we meticulously manage the project to ensure it runs to programme, time and budget. The majority of hotel chain refurbishments we carry out are done within a live environment which, while adding an extra layer of complexity, is managed accordingly by our experienced team to ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum.
Of course, while hotel chain refurbishments can seem like a repetitive process, buildings are unique and, quite often a design may need modifying slightly. Our wealth of knowledge means that to clients we are a ‘safe pair of hands’ they know that we will communicate with them, manage the entire process, and help them overcome any challenges.
Over the last year we have worked with Dalata Hotel Group to refurbish 287 bedrooms across their UK portfolio.
