BACKGROUND.

Bedfordshire Golf Club was established in 1891 but moved to its current site, in Stagsden, Bedford, at the start of the millennium. With a good level of income from members for its 18-hole championship course and the 9-hole academy course, the club was keen to reinvest in a bid to improve the overall member and guest experience. The club also has a clubhouse, with a first-floor bar and terrace offering views across the Bedfordshire countryside, a dining room with its own terrace and a function suite for up to 120 guests.

Following a surge in demand for golf club membership, largely as a result of the pandemic, the club were keen to ensure their facilities and offering were to a high standard to maintain their current membership, while appealing to future guests. Being local to CIC, Bedfordshire Golf Club had no hesitation in contacting them to undertake the renovations.

KEY OBJECTIVES.

  • Take up of the Swing Studio since it opened has been high, creating a new revenue stream for the club
  • The new changing room facilities are more in keeping with the high standard throughout the club, and the result has been met with a great response from members

THE REFURBISHMENT.

To showcase the golf brands it works with and, as a way to interest members while creating a new revenue stream, Bedfordshire Golf Club worked with CIC to carve out and create a dedicated new area which would become a Swing Room. In addition, the existing changing facilities needed a significant upgrade. So, CIC extended and renovated both the ladies’ and men’s changing rooms and toilets, creating a more modern look which was more in keeping with the high standards of the club. Throughout the entire renovation, CIC worked with the Golf Club Board to plan and design the space.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL.

When investing considerable sums into a refurbishment project the number one concern is trusting the contractors. We chose CIC and were really pleased with their creative and flexible approach. Nothing was too much trouble and post snagging not a problem. We would use CIC for any future works without question as they can be trusted to deliver.
