THE REFURBISHMENT.

CIC have a well established working partnership with The Oakman Group and were contracted to refurbish The Woburn. Synonomous with other Oakman Group owned restaurants, the company were keen to recreate their signature open plan dining concept, invoking a sense of space, while creating a unique atmosphere for diners. The refurbishment would be a hybrid concept, blending the open plan modern look with the traditional, centuries old building. As a result of the age of the property, CIC managed the limitations of refurbishing a Grade II listed building by drawing on its wealth of experience. One of the key challenges CIC needed to overcome was the installation of intricate velux windows to flood the space with natural light, while ensuring that no original structures were endangered. Well versed in working within ‘live’ environments, CIC managed the contractors working on the site to ensure that distruption was kept to an absolute minimum. As with all of the refurbishments they work on, CIC made a concerted effort to engage a local supply chain and employ the services of contractors close to The Woburn.
