Covid-19: how hotels are adapting themselves to welcome their first guests

There is an interesting article on CNN which explores how hotels are considering adapting once they are able to re-open. For the foreseeable future, hotels will likely be stripped back, with less emphasis on communal areas, such as buffet breakfasts, and a greater focus on contactless interactions. Over the years we have worked on many hotel refurbishments which have included creating open-plan lobby areas and reception pods. While these designs were originally in keeping with a hotel’s objective of creating open spaces rather than small, closed-off areas, they may now become instrumental in helping hotel chains implement social distancing measures over the coming weeks and months.
