Apprenticeship Success Continues at CIC
Marking National Apprenticeship Week (5-11 February) CIC is delighted to announce that our two apprentices have now successfully completed their courses and have both been offered permanent positions.
As part of our commitment to investing in young talent, we took on Jack Reynolds and Lucy Whitlock at the end of 2021 in apprenticeship positions. Both were studying towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship at Bedford College.
To complement their studies, we encouraged them to work across different areas of the business to get a fully rounded experience. This exercise also enabled them to understand which business area they wanted to carve out a future career within.
With an interest in marketing, Jack worked closely with the commercial team, and we are delighted to announce that he is now a Commercial Associate.
Lucy spent a large part of her time doing an excellent job in supporting the operations side of the business and working on refining her administration skills. This has all created an excellent foundation for Lucy, who, we are delighted to announce, is now our Business Administrator.
To progress further, both Jack and Lucy are now investigating the option of embarking upon future courses, such as the degree apprenticeship route, and we are committed to supporting them both on this journey.
Commenting on their apprenticeship, Jack reflects: “Working with an SME like CIC has enabled me to gain a great understanding of the different departments within a business.”
Lucy adds: “Working across the different departments helped me build up a great skill set which I am now applying to my role. I learned a lot from the people within the business and they offered great support.”
“The apprenticeship route has been great for getting us into a good structure while helping to build a strong work ethic. It’s been a fantastic experience.” Jack concludes.
CIC has long been a supporter of apprentices and providing opportunities for work experience students who have since gone on to become integral members of the team.
“We are passionate about investing in young people and growing our team,” comments Andy Teague, CIC’s Managing Director. “We have always believed in the concept of “growing our own” and fully support the national apprenticeship scheme as a proven way of encouraging young people into our business. We are delighted to have both Jack and Lucy on board and look forward to working with them as they continue to grow their own careers within CIC.”
