Reflecting on a Year of Growth and Opportunity
As we approach the close of the year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible progress CIC has made over the past 12 months. It has been a year of continued growth, one in which we’ve embraced new challenges, forged stronger partnerships, and achieved milestones that make me incredibly proud – most notably, 2024 marked 25 years since we founded CIC, a significant accomplishment!
We were delighted to welcome a host of new clients this year while continuing to nurture the strong relationships we’ve built with our existing customers. Strengthening these ties has led to exciting new opportunities that pushed us to deliver beyond expectations. Thanks to these efforts, we achieved a remarkable 20% increase in turnover, a testament to the trust our clients place in us and our team’s hard work and dedication.
To meet increasing demand, we bolstered our office-based team and welcomed four new Site Managers, who have become instrumental in upholding our high standards on-site. Their meticulous attention to detail ensures that every refurbishment is carried out with the quality and care that defines CIC.
This year also saw changes within our leadership structure. We were excited to welcome Alison back to the business and equally thrilled to have Michelle join our team, bringing fresh energy and expertise. Looking to 2025, a bittersweet moment awaits us as we prepare for the retirement of our Finance Manager, Katy. Her contributions over the years have been invaluable, and while she will be greatly missed, we are delighted to have Deb stepping into the role. Katy and Deb have been working closely to ensure a seamless handover, and I have every confidence that Deb will carry on Katy’s exceptional legacy.
Many of the CIC team have been with us for a long time and this year, alongside celebrating a quarter of a century in business, Tracy, one of our Project Co-Ordinators, marked 25 years with us too. A fantastic achievement and a testament to our strong team.
Our continued growth was accompanied by an expansion of our supply chain to support the increasing scope of our projects. This year, we were proud to deepen our expertise by working with Azzurri Group, one of the UK’s largest hospitality groups. Refurbishing sites for ASK and Zizzi tested our ability to complete fast-track projects without compromising quality. This opportunity reaffirmed our commitment to helping clients reopen as swiftly as possible, a crucial factor in today’s demanding hospitality business landscape.
With our years of experience, CIC prides itself on being a reliable partner during what can often be an overwhelming process for our clients. Whether navigating the complexities of a refurbishment or supporting ambitious ESG objectives, we aim to simplify every step, delivering results that exceed expectations and are delivered on time and to budget.
Our adaptability and focus have been key to our success, and it’s this same approach that has allowed us to chart new territory as we expand into different sectors—an exciting development that we will share more of in the New Year.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering dedication of the entire CIC team, our contractors, and our clients. Your hard work, trust, and partnership drive us forward, and I am sincerely grateful for all you do. As we look ahead to exciting possibilities in 2025, I want to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Together, we’re stepping into the future stronger than ever.
