The ground was broken on 1st school rebuilding programme

The school rebuilding programme has begun! It’s great to hear that one of the first 100 schools to be built or refurbished as part of the Government’s £2bn investment, ten-year School Rebuilding Programme, broke ground recently.

Every one of the developments in the programme will be designed to reduce energy consumption and support the UK’s net zero by 2050 target.

While there are grants available, many education establishments are still managing limited budgets, but improving the facilities and surroundings of the building in which future generations are being educated within can be extremely cost-effective.

Updating the infrastructure through a refurbishment can transform a space, from updating learning areas or even re-fitting toilets can have a positive impact on students and teachers alike. Pupils have been negatively affected by the pandemic, so ensuring that any refurbishment programme is carried out either when the school is empty, or at times so disruption is kept to an absolute minimum is vital.
