Long-awaited school refurbishment programme announced
The news that the government has pledged £1 billion into rebuilding our schools is welcome. School closures have undoubtedly had a detrimental impact on many children within society. This investment into improving the infrastructure of the buildings they spend a considerable amount of their childhood in will go some way to mitigating the impact the Covid-19 crisis has unleashed. With reports last year that almost 4,000 schools in the UK require urgent restoration work, we hope that this announcement will be brought to fruition soon.
