Do you meet their needs?

There’s a new trend shaping the hospitality industry, and it’s called bleisure travel. It’s a novel concept that combines business with pleasure, helping people to make the most of their annual leave. Time in the board room is being supplemented with relaxation, a trip to a new city, or a walk on the beach. With remote working now the norm, more people are starting to realise that they can work efficiently while also enjoying time off with their families.

According to reports, 81% of business travellers are estimated to engage in bleisure travel this year. To cater to this trend, hotels should offer everything a bleisure traveller could need: comfortable workspaces and leisure facilities, top-notch infrastructure, and soft furnishings that appeal to both work and relaxation. When you’re planning to refurbish your hotel, make sure to choose decorations and materials that can be repurposed to unlock potential growth and appeal to the bleisure traveller.

When we refurbished Sketchley Grange in Hinckley, Leicestershire, the new owners were keen to create open-plan, multi-purpose spaces which would attract a wider audience. As part of the project, we created individual dining sections, appealing to both families and business people looking for a quiet spot to work and incorporated booths into the bar with integrated screens which would enable laptop link-ups. CIC also delivered a project for Holiday Inn’s Brentford site to create a cohesive space for guests to eat, drink, work and meet.
